Historical Notes
John D. Oehme was born in Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany, in 1865, the oldest son of Ferdinand and Anna Richter Oehme. He immigrated to the U.S. with his mother in 1869, one year after his father immigrated. His father worked as an accountant for the Burlington Railroad.
