This hand-colored 4" x 6" photograph shows buildings on both sides of a dirt street. There is a two-story gray brick building on the left with display windows on the first floor and decorative masonry around the top. Printed on photograph is: Co-operative Block Looking North, Crawford, Neb.
This photograph was taken at intersection of 2nd and Linn Street looking north. The co-op building on the corner of the street is still standing, as are the red brick building and the light brick building on right side of the photograph. The co-op building housed various businesses on the main floor including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a funeral parlor. The upper floor was divided into small apartments. The building is currently on the National Register of Historic Places and houses the Ranch House restaurant.
