Color postcard (13 1/2 x 8 1/2 cm) showing an interior view of George W. Lininger Art Gallery, a private art gallery, located at 224 North 18th, 18th & Davenport Streets, Omaha, Nebraska. There are paintings hanging on the wall, display cases with plates and vases, and statues. 'Lininger' is misspelled on the front of the postcard as 'Linninger'.
The Lininger Art Gallery opened in 1888 in the home of George W. Lininger, an Omaha implement dealer, and closed in the mid 1920s. It was listed in Baedeker's travel guide as one of the show places in this part of the country with as many as 1,500 visitors a month. Source: "Lininger Gallery a Dream Come True."
