Color postcard (14 x 9 cm.) with a view of the pavilion in Hanscom Park, located at 3201 Woolworth Avenue in Omaha, Nebraska. The pavilion is two-storied, with an open area under the second story covered porch. Arched lattice work on the second story porch is topped by a green roof. There is a curved walkway leading up to the pavilion.
Hanscom Park was established in 1872 and is Omaha's oldest still existing park. It is named after Andrew J. Hanscom who, along with James G. Megeath, donated the 57.5 acres of land that constitute the grounds of the park. The pavilion was added to the park in the years 1889-1890, along with a bandstand, a greenhouse, two lakes, and several fountains, flower beds, and trees. Source: Maddox, Deborah Deitering.
