Black and white postcard (14 x 9 cm.) photograph has been written across the lower right by the photographer with the title "Entrance to City Park, York, Neb." The gate entrance over the dirt road leading into the park reads "City Park 1905" and the gates are open. Several people and a pair of horse-and-buggies are visible. On the left there are people seated on the lawn under trees. On the right women are dressed in long dresses. There is a fence surrounding the park.
Other views of the gate to the City Park have been published in "Greater York Area Centennial 1870-1970" (1970) p. 115 and "History of York County, Nebraska" (1988) p. 63. The exact location of this gate is not currently known, and there is no record of when it was removed or what happened to it.
