Joseph H. Millard was an Omaha businessman and politician. During his career, served as president of Omaha National Bank, a director of the Union Pacific Railroad Company, mayor of Omaha, and a United States Senator. He and his daughter, Jessie H. Millard, lived in this house from 1909 to 1922. Prior to that, it was owned by Arthur and Zerlina Brandeis. It was designed by architect Albert Kahn.
