Historical Notes
Gola Gill was born in Shelby, Nebraska, October 1, 1889. He worked as a hired man near Rising City and was a World War I veteran. When drafted, Gola was living in Toledo, Ohio. He served in the 158 Depot Brigade until July, 1918, when he was transferred to Company A 333 Infantry. He served in that capacity until September 1, 1918, when he became part of the Expeditionary Force. He was discharged, July 2, 1919, eight months after WWI ended.
