Historical Notes
Fred was born in Brainard, Nebraska, to Joseph and Christine Hromas Jakub. He married Celestine Chmelka January 2, 1946, at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard. They raised seven children and most of their married life was spent in Brainard. Fred operated the Brainard-Bruno Freight Line for eleven years, served on the Village Board and was a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Bruno.
