Historical Notes
Three children born to George and Mary Klein who came to Butler County in 1886, shortly after their marriage and settled on a rented farm near Bellwood. Julia, Nicholas and Bertha were the youngest of eleven children. Julia married Louis Nantkes of Seward and Nicholas married Alice Homan. Bertha died before the age of two from an ailment they called "the summer complaint".
