Historical Notes
Four generation photo of women in the William C. Whitmore family. Two of the women are Emma Whitmore, born in 1862, and her daughter, Fern Whitmore, born 1891. Emma Jane Bridge Whitmore was born in Illinois in 1862 to George and Hannah Bridge. She married William C. Whitmore, July 10, 1878, in Geneva, Illinois. They were the parents of seven children and moved to Surprise, Nebraska, in 1891. Emma Whitmore died January 31, 1936, and is buried in Blue Valley Cemetery near Surprise.
