Historical Notes
Charles O. Crosthwaite came to David City, Nebraska, with his parents in 1884, at the age of eighteen. His father, Reverend A. C. Crosthwaite was pastor of the Methodist Church. Charles served as Deputy Postmaster for a short time in 1885, then worked as a bookkeeper for the Merchants and Farmers Bank. He was later employed by the City National Bank in David City and retired as active Vice-President after 48 years in the banking business. He died in 1945, having lived in David City for 60 years.
