A six-story brick building stands on a corner in this 4-1/2' x 6-1/2" black and white photograph. The building has large display windows on the main floor and smaller windows on the other floors. There are cars parked in the street and two street lamps on the corner. There are two radio towers on the roof of the building. "Nebraska Buick Co" is written on the photograph.
Nebraska Buick Company was a multi-state distributor of Buick automobiles, owned by Lincoln businessmen Charles Stuart and Harry Sidles. Architect Joseph McArthur designed their building at the southwest corner of 13th & Q Streets in Lincoln in 1920, with a showroom on the first floor and storage for automobiles on the upper floors, originally accessed by elevator. During World War II, the building served as a Western Electric factory. A ramp was later added to adapt the structure as a parking garage. Now the first and uppermost floors are offices, with parking still accommodated in the middle.
