This 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" black and white photograph shows a two-story building in the colonial revival style with clay roofing tile on the front parapet. The center door leads up stairs to the offices while the door on the left leads to Bennett and Flugstad Clothing and the door on the right leads to University Barbershop & Beauty Parlor. Men's ties are visible in the window of the clothing store, and there are various bottles, along with photographs of women's hairstyles, in the beauty parlor's windows. "Evans Laundry" is written on the photograph.
O.J. and Pearl Fee operated the Evans Dry Cleaning Company on North 12th Street in Lincoln, adjacent to the small office building. Davis and Wilson designed the O.J Fee Service Company building at 1125 R Street in 1927, producing a handsome double storefront in the colonial revival style. The contractor was Olson Construction Company. The building cost an estimated $20,000 to build. The building included 1123 R Street originally occupied by University Barber and Beauty Shop, the center entrance at 1125 R Street providing access to the second-floor offices, and 1127 R Street originally operated as Bennett and Flugstad Clothing. By 1950 the building housed University of Nebraska offices such as the Public Relations and Publishing Departments. Nebraska Book Store occupied the building from the 1960's until the site was cleared in 1986 for the construction of the Lied Center of Performing Arts.
