Gothic influences characterize the Methodist Church building in this black and white image taken about 1900. The original 1866 church was incorporated into a new structure created in 1886. The configuration seen in this view is the result of that remodeling at 8th and Broad. The 1866 portion of the church is marked by the two rectangular windows with the diamond shaped panes. The two brick chimneys are also original but the area to the left of them has been added. The gabled section of the building seen at the right of the photograph includes five gothic arched windows and is also newer construction. The bell tower is a modified version of the original but still contains similar features seen in its numerous arches and openings.
