New building, Nebraska Home for Dependent Children, Lincoln
Description
A large Tudor-style building in this 5-1/4" x 4" black and white plate has a wide staircase leading up to the entry porch and a second staircase rising at the right side to a back porch. Trees dot the lawn in front of the building at 10th and South Streets in Lincoln.

Historical Notes
Built in 1916 on property acquired after the previous building at 1425 F Street caught fire due to a defective gas pipe near the furnace. No one was hurt, but much of the furniture was damaged or destroyed and the building was uninhabitable.
