Historical Information
Mr. Jacob Haish of DeKalb, Illinois gave $50,000 to Wesleyan University in 1890 for the building of the Haish Manual Training School. The cornerstone was laid on June 6, 1891 and the building was opened in March, 1892. The building burned to the ground in the early morning of January 29, 1894, a target of arson.
