Millard, Nebraska, where this house was situated, was named for pioneer banker Ezra Millard who platted the town. It was officially established on February 1, 1871. Ezra Millard was born in Hamilton, Ontario, February 3, 1833 and died August 20, 1886, in Saratoga Springs, NY. He settled in Omaha in 1856 and began a real estate firm and branched out into banking.
