Color postcard (13 1/2 x 8 1/2 cm) with a view of Methodist Episcopal Hospital, 36th & Cuming Streets, Omaha, Nebraska. Two wings are built adjoining each other and they are four stories high. There are trees in front and a circular drive.
Methodist Episcopal Hospital was organized on March 3, 1891. The original building on 20th street between Harney & St. Mary's Avenue was purchased and the hospital opened on May 28, 1891. 1908 saw the construction of a 4 story brick building at 3612 Cuming street which would be the left hand portion of the building seen in this view. The total building cost was $212,000. The new hospital was able to treat 2000 patients per year. In October 1914 the addition seen on the right side of the image was added which added 60-65 new beds.
